FILLER

A wide range of fillers can be used with MODEL-CAST.  They serve to cut the cost of material, reduce shrinkage, and decrease or increase the weight of the casting.

Fillers should be thoroughly mixed equally into both sides of the system prior to final mixing.  The amount of filler used is limited only by the  requirements of pourability and desired detail of the finished part.

Porous fillers such as Perlite cannot be used because absorbed liquids cannot combine with other liquids.

All fillers employed must be dry.  Walnut shells or sawdust cannot be used because they contain moisture.
